ICONIC SRI LANKA
Rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape, Sigiriya is one of Sri Lanka’s most recognisable heritage sites.
The ancient rock fortress dates to the reign of King Kasyapa (477–495 AD) and rises nearly 200 metres above the surrounding landscape. Its historic features include frescoes, landscaped gardens, fortifications and the remains of a royal palace at the summit.
